Pack 368

Some of the first people you will meet are the Cubmaster and your scout’s new Den Leader.

Cubmaster
– Michael Sargent

The Cubmaster’s duties include: leading and or conducting the monthly Pack meetings, guide & support Den Leaders, work with the Pack committee to plan an annual Pack program, see that Cub Scouts receive a quality, year-round program filled with fun and activities that qualify the dens and pack for the National Summertime Pack Award, and to coordinate the Cub Scout program in the Pack according to the policies of the BSA.

Den Leaders

Lion Den (Kindergarten) – Joshua Damrauer

Tiger Den (1st Grade) – Kyle Oliver

Wolf Den (2nd Grade) – Joshua Vecchio

Bear Den (3rd Grade) – Lisa Czaster

Webelos 1 Den (4rd Grade) – David Bonach

Webelos 2 Den / Arrow of Light (5th Grade) – Pamela Machamer-Peechatka

Cub Scout den leaders work with the Cubmaster, the Cub Scouts and their parents/guardians to execute the Cub Scouting program in the den.  Den Leaders duties include: planning and carrying out den meetings with the goal of accomplishing various achievements in order to help scouts earn their current rank; to prepare for the Pack Meeting; to lead the Den in its participation at Pack meetings; and to help the Cubmaster in presenting awards during Pack meetings.

The Pack Committee & Charter Organization

The pack also has some other very important people involved.  Crucial to the success of a pack is the Pack Committee (listed below) and its Chartered Partner who provides a liaison to the pack known as the Chartered Organization Representative.

The Pack is run by a Pack Committee (Group of Parent Volunteers). The committee is made up of a Chartered Organization Representative, Committee Chair, Cubmaster, Treasurer, Advancement/Awards Chair, Fundraising Chair, as well as other committee members.  All of these leaders are parents of scouts in the pack. All leaders and interested parents are encouraged to participate in committee meetings.

The committee meets once a month, usually the 1st or 2nd Sunday of the month.  The role of the committee is largely administrative.  The committee plans pack activities, selects leaders, performs record keeping, manages pack finances, orders awards, maintains pack equipment, helps train leaders, and recognizes leaders.

Pack Committee Chair – Brian Stevenson

The pack committee chair leads the pack committee and is responsible for the administration, oversight, and support of the pack program. The pack committee chair’s role is to maintain a close relationship with the chartered organization representative and the chartered organization to cultivate harmonious relations and maintain communications, confer with the Cubmaster on policy matters relating to Cub Scouting and the chartered organization, and supervise the pack committee operation by presiding over the monthly pack leaders' meeting.

Treasurer – Brandon Morgans

The Treasurer keeps all records for the pack including bank account and financial records, attends pack meetings and leaders’ meetings, and assists the Cubmaster with development of monthly newsletter.

Awards Chair – Todd Howell

The Awards Chair maintains advancement records and orders and obtains all badges and insignia as well as attends pack meetings and pack committee meetings.

Fundraising Chair – Lisa Czaster

The role of the Fundraising Chair is to coordinate all pack fundraisers throughout the program year and to assist in coordinating pack activities.

The pack is owned by a Chartering Organization.  Charter organizations can include education centers, parent associations, religious organizations, service clubs, and other groups interested in youth. We are chartered by Charlton United Methodist Church.  The chartered organization approves leaders, provides a meeting place, and operates the pack within the guidelines and policies of the chartered organization and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).  The chartered organization selects a Chartered Organization Representative who serves as a liaison between the pack and the organization. The Chartered Organization Rep approves the adult leadership group leading the pack.
